The Laboratory of Concrete and Aseismic Constructions belongs to the Division of Structural Engineering of the Dept. of Civil and Construction Engineering Educators and is equipped with the machinery and apparatus for the practical training of students in the production and strength testing of concrete, experimental testing of simple reinforced concrete beams with (or without) ductility requirements and, there is also apparatus for non-destructive methods of concrete testing.
The laboratory possesses advanced structural software, which enables the students to obtain a deep understanding on the response of structures under static and dynamic loading and helps them to implement lab assignments on the analysis and detailing of concrete example structures.
The laboratory facilities are available to final year students for the completion of their Graduation Thesis.
The research conducted in the Laboratory covers the areas of structural behavior of common building structures under gravity loads and earthquake excitations.
